Ocean’s Eight
Short Biography : George Clayton Johnson (1929–2015) was an American writer best known for his contributions to science fiction and fantasy. He co-wrote the novel *Logan’s Run* (1967) with William F. Nolan, which later became a popular film and television series about a dystopian future where people are killed at 30 to maintain population control. Johnson also wrote several episodes of the original *Star Trek*, including “The Man Trap,” the first episode ever broadcast.
In addition, Johnson was a prolific contributor to *The Twilight Zone*, penning classic episodes such as “Nothing in the Dark” and “Kick the Can,” known for their thoughtful explorations of human nature. He also wrote the story that became the basis for *Ocean’s 11* (1960), which inspired the famous heist film and its modern remakes.
With a creative career that spanned genres, Johnson was praised for his visionary storytelling and his ability to blend speculative fiction with deep philosophical ideas. He remains a respected figure in science fiction and fantasy writing.
